Course: Advanced applied Media Technology, autumn term 2013
School assignment, research existing demo/show reels and create one yourself.
My thoughts
”On this assignment I made a demo reel containing clips I´ve redone during 2 weeks.
I´m pretty happy about the result, I learned some useful guidelines in creating a suitable demo reel for a sound designer. I also got some experience in Sony Vegas Pro. ”
Sound design by T.Edberg (Music, SFX, Foley, Ambience, Mixing)
Deadline : 2 weeks
Course: Surround technique, spring term 2012
School assignment, make an alternative sound design in surround to a clip from the movie ”The Mechanic″.
This is a stereo down mix from a surround mix, levels might be a bit ”off”.
My thoughts
”On this assignment my main role was composer but unfortunately, M.Bjerre caught the flu in the middle of the process, which made me partly responsible for the ambience and SFX as well.
I´m really proud in the way the music turned out on this clip, I was aiming for a classic Hollywood action movie theme which I think I managed pretty well considering the time limit. ”
Sound design by T.Edberg (Music, SFX and Ambience), M.Bjerre (SFX, Ambience & Foley), J.Landin (foley)
Deadline : 40 hours (5 days á 8 hours)
Course: Surround technique, spring term 2012
School assignment, make an alternative sound design in surround to a clip from the movie ”9″.
This is a stereo down mix from a surround mix, levels might be a bit ”off”.
My thoughts
In this assignment I got the foley responsibility. It was pretty challenging considering all the eye-movements and footsteps on different surfaces.
But I really enjoyed it and I feel somewhat happy with the result, learning by doing.
Sound design by T.Edberg (foley), J.Johansson (SFX), T.Uhlin (ambience)
Deadline: 32 hours (4 days á 8 hours)
Course: Applied Sound Design, Autumn term 2011
School assignment. This is my take of an alternative sound design of a clip from the movie ”The Bourne Ultimatum”, I mixed the original sound effects/foley with my music.
My thoughts
This one was pretty stressful, only had one day to compose music to this intense clip. I´m also a huge ”Bourne”-fan which made me even more motivated.
Music by T.Edberg
Deadline: 12 hours (1 days á 12 hours)
Course: Applied Sound Design, Autumn term 2011
School assignment, we were asked to record our own foley to the clip and where not allowed to use any other sounds than the foley recordings to create our own sound design of the clip.
My thoughts
A great assignment which we all as a group enjoyed, was only allowed to use foley recorded by ourselves.
Made us use our poor brains to come up with different solutions for sounds, the spring sound of the ”big” lamp e.g. a bicycle handbrake.
Sound design by T.Edberg, J.Johansson and C.Vasselbring
Deadline: 32 hours (4 days á 8 hours)
Course: Applied Sound Design, Autumn term 2011
School assignment. make an alternative sound design of a clip from the movie ”Resident Evil”.
My thoughts
A lot of work and little time. First of the screams are way out there, didn´t have time to record any actor, which unfortunately is really obvious.
Also there´s some small things missing, not entirely satisfied with this one.
Sound design: Tobias Edberg
Deadline: 12 hours (1 day á 12 hours)
Course: Applied Sound Design, Autumn term 2011
School assignment. make an alternative sound design of a clip from the movie ”The Animatrix”

Course: Soundscape, Autumn term 2011
School assignment.
Create a soundscape for shopping in a supermarket e.g. ”City gross”.
My Thoughts
Me and Jon went for a lounge-feeling on this one, trying to reduce stress and making your shopping more enjoyable.
We´re both inexperienced in the genre lounge/chillout so we thought we would give it a try. Turned out pretty decent.
It´s two songs mixed together.
Music by T.Edberg and J.Johansson
Deadline: 16 hours (2 days á 8 hours)
Course: Soundscaping, autumn term 2011
School assignment, we where told to make two soundscapes of the same clip, and make the different versions each others opposite.
I went for a clip from the movie ”Hurtlocker”.
My Thoughts
My intention was to make one which told the story of a pro-war, american hero, whilst the other version was intended to tell a more hostile and unfriendly story.
I hope that makes any sense, anyhow take a listen to both versions and you might get the point.
Sound design: T.Edberg
Deadline: 16 hours (2 days á 8 hours)
First version: ”Behind Enemy lines”
Second version”The American Hero”

We had great fun as group this project and it was probably the most enjoyable assignment during spring 2011.
